Cumberland Man Arrested for Assault and Drug Possession

CUMBERLAND, MD — Robert Kyle Miller, 52, was arrested following a physical altercation at a residence on the 100 block of West Oldtown Rd on Friday, April 19. Cumberland City Police were called to the scene after reports of an assault.

The incident began when Miller reportedly became agitated over a phone conversation he overheard, which led him to assault another individual in the home. The altercation involved Miller dragging the victim onto a table and floor, resulting in minor injuries. During the investigation, officers also found drug paraphernalia, leading to additional charges.

Miller has been charged with second-degree assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance and subsequently remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
