Elkton, MD – A Cecil County man, originally from Pennsylvania and now a resident of Maryland for two years, has claimed the top $100,000 prize on the 50X The Cash scratch-off game offered by the Maryland Lottery. The winner, who had a previous experience winning a $50,000 prize a few years back, purchased his winning ticket at Royal Farms in Elkton, on one of his self-proclaimed “lucky days,” Thursdays and Saturdays.
The lucky winner was seated in his car when he scratched off the ticket and uncovered a 10X symbol along with a $10,000 prize. Realizing that his win was actually 10 times that amount, $100,000, he expressed his joy with celebratory exclamations and shared the news with a family member.
Upon winning, the retiree plans to share half of his newfound wealth with a family member to start a business and intends to purchase a new motorcycle for himself. In his free time, the lucky lottery player enjoys fishing.
Royal Farms in Elkton, the store where the winning ticket was sold, will also benefit from the win, receiving a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket.
The 50X The Cash game, which was introduced in January along with a variety of Multiplier family games, offers a second-chance promotion featuring three additional drawings with opportunities to win prizes of $50,000 or $75,000. The game includes five $100,000 top prizes that are yet to be claimed, along with five $50,000 prizes, 13 $10,000 prizes, and other amounts ranging from $10 to $1,000.
