HARTFORD, CT—A 40-year-old Hartford County resident, Gregory West of Plainville, faced robbery charges on Monday for allegedly entering a Fleet gas station in Southington around 10 p.m. on April 21. According to reports by Lt. Keith Egan of the Southington Police, West demanded money from the station’s clerk.

Lt. Egan mentioned that upon West’s entrance to the gas station, he insisted on gaining access to the cash register drawer, prompting a standoff with the clerk. Eventually, threatening harm, West coerced the clerk to hand over a sum of cash before absconding from the scene. He was caught on surveillance, leaving the area in a rented car.

Incidentally, detectives were already acquainted with West, as he had previously robbed the same gas station back in 2016, as per Egan’s statement. Currently,

West is in custody on a $350,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, April 23.
