Schenectady Middle Schooler Arrested After Bringing Loaded Gun to School

Schenectady, NY – A student at Mont Pleasant Middle School was arrested on Friday afternoon after staff members discovered a loaded .45 caliber handgun in his backpack. The incident led to the student, a seventh-grader, being taken into custody by Schenectady Police Department officers.

The 13-year-old student is facing a charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, classified as a Class C Felony, according to detectives from the department’s Youth Aid Bureau.
