UPPER MORELAND, PA—Following a collaborative effort by local residents and authorities, a bear was safely located and relocated from Upper Moreland. The bear, found in a tree, was assisted by the Upper Moreland Fire Department and the Pennsylvania Game Commission, ensuring no harm came to the animal during the process.
The initial sighting was reported early this morning near Farmstead Park, with subsequent confirmations made possible through community tips, photos, and videos. This cooperation helped ascertain the bear’s presence and travel direction. As of 6 AM today, there have been no further reports of the bear in the area.
Upper Moreland Police Department (UMPD) continues to encourage residents to remain vigilant. They advise checking security camera footage and reporting any new sightings or signs of bear activity, such as footprints, to 9-1-1 immediately. Residents are also reminded to maintain a safe distance from any wildlife and report sightings promptly.
