Firefighters Quickly Control Building Fire in Susquehanna Township

SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP, PA — A large fire erupted early this morning at an apartment building under construction on Russel Dr, Susquehanna Township. The fire, which was reported at approximately 05:25 hours, is believed to have started after the building was struck by lightning.

Upon their arrival, Chief 32 of the Susquehanna Township Police confirmed the blaze was emanating from the top floor of the three-story, 200ft by 75ft structure. Firefighting units responded promptly, arriving on the scene within six minutes of being dispatched. The fire was successfully brought under control within 50 minutes.

Approximately 50 firefighters from various departments, including Susquehanna Twp, Lower Paxton Twp, Swatara Twp, Penbrook, Northeast Fire and Rescue (Enola), Harrisburg City, West Shore Bureau of Fire (Lemoyne), and Susquehanna Township EMS, were involved in the operation.

There were no injuries reported among the emergency service personnel attending the scene.
