High Risk Police Vehicle Stop Ends with Two Arrests

LINWOOD, PA — In the early hours of Wednesday, May 8th, officers from the Lower Chichester Township Police Department, along with units from Upper Chichester Township and Trainer Borough Police Departments, executed a high-risk vehicle stop that led to the arrest of two individuals on felony assault charges. The operation targeted Brian Sheaffer, 63, and Robert Gannon, 21, both from Linwood, who were believed to be heavily armed.

The arrest occurred without incident around 5:27 AM near the intersection of Blueball Avenue and Columbia Avenue, involving the suspects’ silver Ford Focus. Officers recovered four firearms, twelve magazines (including five extended magazines), and over 230 rounds of ammunition during the arrest.

Both suspects face additional charges stemming from the firearms found. Sheaffer is charged with two counts of carrying firearms without a license, a misdemeanor of the 1st degree, while Gannon faces two counts of illegal possession of a firearm, a felony of the 2nd degree, and two counts of carrying firearms without a license, a felony of the 3rd degree.

Sheaffer and Gannon were remanded to the Delaware County Prison, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 16th
