Overnight Shooting in D.C. Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

WASHINGTON, DC – A homicide investigation is currently underway in Southeast Washington following a fatal shooting early Wednesday morning. Detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch lead the inquiry.

The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. Wednesday morning at the 3300 block of D Street, where police discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds inside a residence. Despite exhaustive efforts to save them, one adult male victim, later identified as 48-year-old Detrick Ealy of no fixed address, died from his injuries.

The other two victims received medical attention; one was treated at a local hospital and the other at the scene for minor injuries.
