Baltimore, MD – Investigators announced the arrest of 34-year-old Chavez Mitchell of Baltimore in connection to a shooting incident that transpired in the Southern District on March 11. Detectives revealed that Mitchell allegedly shot a 32-year-old male victim during a dispute involving multiple parties.
Warrant Apprehension Detectives took Chavez Mitchell into custody on Wednesday, May 17. He was later transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder.
The shooting incident occurred on a Friday, March 11, 2024, at around 2:41 p.m. in the 3000 block of South Hanover Street. Responding Southern District patrol officers found the 32-year-old male victim at Harbor Hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim’s condition is currently listed as stable.
Initial investigations suggested that an altercation took place in the 2800 block of Carver Road, after which the victim drove to the hospital.
The suspect followed, shooting the victim in his vehicle at the hospital’s parking lot. Southern District Shooting detectives have taken several persons of interest into custody.
