BRONX, NY—A 16-year-old male was the victim of a violent robbery on Thursday, May 23, near 1229 Franklin Avenue. At around 5:15 PM, the teenager was accosted by three young male assailants who, working together, threatened him with a knife and forcibly took his belongings.
After the initial confrontation, as the victim attempted to escape by running across the street, two of the suspects pursued him. They caught up to the victim and assaulted him with kicks and punches, inflicting multiple injuries. The two attackers then fled towards East 169 Street and Franklin Avenue, while the third suspect ran in a different direction.
The victim sustained scratches to his arm but declined medical treatment at the scene. Police are actively searching for the three suspects, who are all described as males in their late teens to early twenties. The first suspect is noted for having a light complexion, slim build, dark brown curly hair, a scar on his nose, and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, and black sneakers. The second suspect has a dark complexion, a short dark afro, and was dressed in a white t-shirt and black pants. The third, who was not captured in media images, also has a dark complexion and was wearing a black sweat suit with a white floral design and a black mask.
Authorities urge anyone with information about this incident or the whereabouts of the suspects to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
