Eight Shot Overnight in Philadelphia: A Summary of Three Separate Incidents
PHILADELPHIA, PA – A series of violent shootings occurred overnight in Philadelphia, leaving one dead and seven injured across three different incidents.
The first incident took place at 11:03 PM at 24xx S. 62nd Street, where a dispute escalated into gunfire following an auto accident. A 21-year-old male victim was fatally shot in the chest and pronounced dead at Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center. Two other males, aged 22, were also injured; one is in critical condition with multiple wounds, while the other is stable after being shot in the buttocks. A suspect is in custody, and the Homicide Unit continues to investigate.
Shortly after, at 10:37 PM, officers were called to 9xx S. 58th Street where four individuals had been shot. A 23-year-old male died from multiple gunshot wounds. The other three victims, including two 20-year-old females, sustained injuries but are in stable condition. The motive remains unclear, and no arrests have been made in this case.
In another incident at 9:40 PM on the highway at 1000 W. Hunting Park Avenue, a 28-year-old male was shot twice in the stomach. He was able to reach Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle and is recovering in stable condition. This shooting did not leave behind a crime scene, and no arrests or weapon recoveries have been reported.
