Ocean City Prepares for Maryland State Firefighter’s Parade

Ocean City, MD – The Maryland State Firefighter’s parade is scheduled for Wednesday, June 19, 2024, with festivities commencing at 1 p.m.

The Town of Ocean City Public Works Department will implement a new traffic pattern at approximately 11:00 a.m., and parade staging will occur in the Inlet Lot. The parade route will span the Northbound lanes of Baltimore Ave from 14th Street to 30th Street, with Northbound traffic limited to parade participants. Non-participants will be redirected west on 15th Street.

Parking restrictions will be enforced from 8:30 a.m. onwards on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in specified areas including Baltimore Avenue between 12th Street and 31st Street, 15th Street between Baltimore Ave and Philadelphia Ave, and 12th Street between Baltimore Ave and Philadelphia Ave.

Travelers should anticipate delays near the parade route and consider utilizing Philadelphia Ave from 9th Street northbound to mitigate congestion. Increased pedestrian activity is anticipated along the parade route.

Authorities advise pedestrians to adhere to marked crosswalks and traffic signals, while cyclists are encouraged to utilize designated bike lanes and obey traffic signals. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously, remain vigilant, and refrain from driving under the influence.
