Postal Worker Delivered $50,000 Powerball Win

by Breaking Local News Report

Randallstown, MD – A U.S. Postal Service employee from Baltimore County received an unexpected windfall after clinching a third-tier $50,000 prize in the Powerball lottery.

The lucky winner, a resident of Randallstown, typically selects his own numbers for Maryland Lottery games but decided to try his luck with a $3 quick-pick Powerball ticket, featuring the Double Play option, purchased from Royal Farms on 4045 Wilkens Avenue in Baltimore. Despite usually favoring personalized number sets, he chose the convenience of a quick-pick ticket on June 1.

The following day brought a pleasant surprise when he discovered his winning status upon scanning the ticket. While he hasn’t yet made concrete plans for his prize, he intends to continue playing in hopes of hitting a substantial jackpot.

Tonight marks his next opportunity, with the Powerball drawing boasting an estimated jackpot annuity of $221 million, with a cash option estimated at $104 million. In 2024, Maryland has already seen 32 third-tier winning tickets ranging from $50,000 to $150,000. The most recent Powerball jackpot was claimed on May 6 in Florida, totaling $214.9 million.
