Repeat DUI Offender Arrested in Stafford

by Breaking Local News Report

STAFFORD, VA— A man was arrested for driving under the influence for the second time in five years after being found asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle outside a CVS on Chatham Heights Road. The incident occurred on June 7, 2024, at approximately 10:17 PM, just as the store was preparing to close.

First Sergeant M.R. Flick and Deputy M.A. Holub of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene following a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, they discovered the driver asleep in his car, which was still running. When the driver awoke, the deputies noted several signs of intoxication, including pinpoint pupils, and discovered that his license had been revoked due to a previous DUI conviction.

The man was charged with driving under the influence for the second time within five years and driving with a suspended license. He was subsequently held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

This case highlights the ongoing challenges of addressing repeat DUI offenses and the measures taken by law enforcement to prevent potentially dangerous situations on the road.
