Elderly New York City Man Attacked in Apparent Hate Crime

NEW YORK, NY—An incident involving the assault of a 74-year-old man occurred on Sunday at approximately 4:00 PM in front of 530 Amsterdam Avenue. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force has taken up the investigation following the event.

The victim was confronted by a disorderly individual who reportedly spat on him and then fled the scene heading south on Amsterdam Avenue. No injuries were reported from the incident.

The suspect is described as a male, aged between 35 and 45, with a light complexion and heavy build. He stands about 5’10” tall and weighs around 200 pounds. He has short black hair and was last seen wearing gray shorts, a maroon and yellow shirt, and black sneakers.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
