Cumberland Police Arrest Suspect in Robbery Incident

Cumberland, MD — On Saturday, June 29, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a reported robbery in the 100 block of Virginia Avenue at approximately 9:01 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who claimed that Russell McLamb had stolen a quantity of US currency following a brief struggle. The victim further alleged that McLamb had grabbed them by the throat and struck them in the head before fleeing.

Officers canvassed the area and located McLamb, who was subsequently arrested. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner and is being held without bond.

Russell Clinton McLamb, 39, of Cumberland, Maryland, faces charges of robbery, first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, and theft of less than $100.
