Delaware State Police Arrest Man for 10th Offense DUI in Lincoln

Lincoln, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested 58-year-old Anthony Nesmith of Lincoln for his 10th offense DUI following a traffic stop on Friday night.

On July 5, 2024, at approximately 9:15 p.m., a trooper observed a black Acura RL failing to maintain its lane while traveling westbound on Greely Avenue near Greentop Road. The trooper conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Anthony Nesmith. Upon contact, the trooper noted multiple signs of impairment and administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Nesmith was subsequently taken into custody for driving under the influence.

A computer check revealed that Nesmith had nine prior DUI convictions. He was transported to Troop 7 and charged with felony DUI and failing to remain within a single lane. Nesmith was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $8,000 cash bond.
