CUMBERLAND, Md. — On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 300 block of Baltimore Avenue.

Following the investigation of the accident, a tow truck was called to remove the vehicle at fault. As the tow truck began its operation, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Joshua Christian Moore, 29, of Cumberland, began yelling and obstructed the tow truck by standing in front of it.

Officers instructed Moore to stop causing a disturbance. Despite repeated warnings,

Moore continued his disruptive behavior, drawing the attention of a resident from the 300 block of Baltimore Avenue. Officers then informed Moore that he was under arrest. Moore resisted, leading to a brief struggle before he was taken into custody.

Moore was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking. He was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstructing and hindering. After a hearing before a District Court Commissioner,

Moore was released on his personal recognizance.
