Philadelphia Barricade Situation Ends Peacefully

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A burglary at the Metro PCS store on 6901 Stenton Avenue led to a dramatic police response early this morning. Officers arrived at the scene at 6:35 AM following a 911 call, just in time to see a suspect fleeing the location.

The suspect, described as a Black male wearing a black shirt and green shorts, was observed barricading himself inside a residence on the 6700 Block of Cornelius Street, believed to be his home.

The situation escalated to a full barricade, declared at 6:58 AM, with police establishing a staging area at the intersection of Cornelius Street and Beverly Road.

Fortunately, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The Northwest Detective Division is now leading the ongoing investigation into the burglary. Further details will be disclosed as the investigation progresses.
