Two Injured in Early Morning Shooting in the Bronx

NEW YORK, Aug. 16, 2024 — Two people were injured in a shooting early Friday morning in the Bronx, police reported.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. in front of 83 West Fordham Road. An unidentified individual discharged a firearm multiple times, grazing a 37-year-old woman in the right thigh and striking a 43-year-old man in the back.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on University Avenue. The female victim transported herself to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she was treated and is in stable condition. The male victim was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a slim build and dark complexion, approximately 30 years old and 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a red or orange hoodie, black Adidas sweatpants, and white sneakers.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
