Pittsburgh Police Arrest Suspect in East Allegheny Non-Fatal Shooting

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit has arrested Raymont Wright, 54, in connection with a non-fatal shooting that occurred on August 18, 2024, in the East Allegheny neighborhood. Wright was taken into custody on Thursday, August 22, 2024, just before 4:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Smokey Wood Drive.

Wright is facing multiple charges, including Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, and Carrying a Firearm Without a License.

The arrest marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation of the shooting incident.
