Newark Police Seek Help Identifying Suspect in Criminal Mischief Incident

NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a criminal mischief incident that occurred on September 8, 2024, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé announced.

The suspect, who was reportedly intoxicated, threw a brick that shattered the glass screen door of a home on Merchant Street. Police responded to the residence between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. after the man had been banging on the front door. Officers initially had the man leave the area, but he returned around 3:10 a.m. and damaged the door.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is asked to contact Newark police as the investigation continues.
