BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Bethlehem Township officials have alerted visitors to Housenick Memorial Park of new archery hunting activities permitted on adjacent county-owned land near the Monocacy Creek.
According to a statement from the Bethlehem Township Police Department, Northampton County and the Pennsylvania Game Commission have an agreement that allows archery hunting in the Archibald Johnston Conservation area, which borders the township park. Firearm hunting remains prohibited in the conservation area.
Hunting on Housenick Memorial Park property, which is owned by Bethlehem Township, is not allowed. The notice emphasized that the newly permitted hunting activity is confined to the county’s land, not within the park itself.
Visitors with concerns about park activities or safety are encouraged to contact the Bethlehem Township Police Department at their non-emergency number, 610-759-2200, or dial 911 in case of an emergency.
