Woman injured in attempted robbery in Manhattan

MANHATTAN, N.Y. — A 54-year-old woman was injured during an attempted robbery on Saturday night in Lower Manhattan, according to police. The incident occurred around 9:48 p.m. at 363 West Broadway, where the victim was sitting when an unidentified man tried to forcefully take her pocketbook from a chair next to her.

As the victim struggled to hold onto her bag, the suspect dragged her along with it, causing her to suffer a broken left arm. The assailant fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, taking personal items valued at approximately $1,400.

Emergency medical services responded and transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, where she was treated and listed in stable condition.

Police are still searching for the suspect, and the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
