Police Investigating Fatal Shooting in the Bronx

Bronx, NY — A 33-year-old man was killed and another wounded in a shooting early Sunday morning at 2690 Morris Avenue in the 52nd Precinct. The incident occurred around 1:07 a.m., when officers responded to a 911 call reporting a male shot at the location.

Upon arrival, police found 33-year-old Alvin Ortiz, of Newburgh, NY, with gunshot wounds to his left arm and chest. He was transported by EMS to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A second victim, a 36-year-old man with gunshot injuries to his left arm and wrist, was also taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities are searching for a suspect described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
