Gunmen Use Stolen Car in Newark Armed Robbery

NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two male suspects involved in an armed robbery that took place on the morning of November 11, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. announced Saturday.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:46 a.m. near McWhorter and Hamilton Streets. Police say one of the suspects, wearing tan pants, exited a stolen red 2017 Hyundai Sonata, approached a male victim, and robbed him at gunpoint.

The stolen vehicle, which has since been recovered by police, is also believed to have been used in another robbery near New Jersey Railroad Avenue and Green Street around the same time.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to identify and apprehend the suspects.
