BARNEGAT, N.J. — Amid reports of drone sightings across New Jersey, the Barnegat Police Department is encouraging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity involving unmanned aircraft in the area.

While there is currently no evidence of danger, Barnegat police are working closely with the FBI to monitor drone activity and investigate any potential concerns.

Authorities advise that drones spotted near sensitive areas such as schools, government buildings, places of worship, or other critical infrastructure should be reported immediately to the Barnegat Township Police Department. These areas are being given heightened attention by law enforcement.

Drones operated in areas believed to be for recreational use can be reported directly to the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324). A specific task force has been established to address drone-related incidents and engage with the public.

Residents are urged to stay alert and promptly report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement. “There is no call too small,” the police department emphasized, underscoring their commitment to community safety.
