Linthicum carjacking victim forced out of car by suspect tapping handgun on windown

LINTHICUM, MD — Police are investigating a carjacking that occurred on West Nursery Road in Linthicum on the evening of December 28, 2024, during which a 38-year-old man was forced out of his vehicle at gunpoint.

The incident took place at approximately 6:25 p.m., when the victim was approached by a male suspect who tapped a handgun on the car window. The suspect ordered the man to move to the passenger seat and then drove to the area of U.S. Route 1 in Jessup, where the victim was let out of the vehicle.

The stolen vehicle, a gray Dodge Challenger, was later recovered unoccupied by Maryland State Police near I-195 and Washington Boulevard. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Detectives from the Regional Crimes Unit are investigating and have not released any suspect information. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the carjacking to contact 410-222-4730 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
