Harford County man wins full $50,000 Maryland Lottery prize

HARFORD COUNTY, Md. — A Forest Hill resident and two-time Maryland Lottery winner claimed a full $50,000 prize in the Jan. 18 Bonus Match 5 drawing after narrowly missing out on the total prize during a previous win.

The supply chain manager, who scored a top-prize win in July 2024 but shared it with 25 other winners, held the only top-prize ticket in the January drawing. He purchased the $6 ticket at the Sunoco gas station at 2019 Rock Spring Road in Forest Hill, opting for a combination of self-selected numbers and quick-pick choices.

On the night of the drawing, the player discovered that one of his quick-pick lines secured the top prize. Unlike his previous win, he did not have to split the $50,000 due to being the sole winner. Bonus Match 5 rules limit the top-prize pool to $600,000, which is divided among all top-prize winners if there are more than 12 winning game boards.

The winner plans to use the money to pay bills and share the remainder with his wife. In his free time, he enjoys refurbishing furniture and spending time with family.
