Man robbed of $3,000 necklace after dispute at Bronx store, police say

A Bronx man was jumped and robbed of a $3,000 necklace following a store dispute that turned violent in the early morning hours.

BRONX, N.Y. — A 34-year-old man was assaulted and robbed of a gold necklace worth approximately $3,000 during an early morning incident in the Bronx, police said.

The incident occurred at about 4:11 a.m. on Sunday, May 18, at a store located at 1398 Grand Concourse. According to authorities, the victim was buying drinks when he got into a verbal dispute with a store employee. The disagreement escalated into a physical altercation.

During the altercation, an unidentified man approached the victim from behind and forcibly removed the necklace. The suspect then fled the scene in a white SUV, heading northbound on Grand Concourse.

The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
