STAFFORD, Va. — Two juveniles reported missing were located hours later intoxicated and facing criminal charges after stealing alcoholic beverages, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 13 around 5:40 p.m., Deputy R.H. Ryan responded to a runaway report on Rock Hill Church Road. The complainant reported that two male juveniles had left home after becoming upset over “house rules.” The pair were entered into the system as runaways, and Deputy Ryan continued his patrol.

At approximately 9:24 p.m., Deputy Ryan was dispatched to the Dollar Tree at 1115 Garrisonville Road following a report of two intoxicated teenagers. Upon arrival, Deputy Ryan identified the juveniles as the same individuals reported missing earlier in his shift.

The two admitted to stealing 14 BuzzBallz, a pre-mixed alcoholic beverage, from the Neighborhood Walmart. Due to their level of intoxication, both were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. While at the hospital, they reportedly acted disruptively and shouted profanities at each other.

Juveniles face multiple charges

Following medical clearance, the juveniles were charged with larceny, public intoxication, and using abusive language. Juvenile Intake denied detention, and both were released to a responsible guardian.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of the juveniles due to their age.
