Power outage affects parts of South River during emergency wire repairs

by Breaking Local News Report

SOUTH RIVER, N.J. — Portions of South River experienced a temporary power outage Wednesday evening as emergency crews worked to repair electrical wires, according to the South River Police Department.

The outage occurred between approximately 7:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., impacting areas that were also affected by a similar incident the previous night. Officials did not specify which neighborhoods were involved but confirmed the affected zones were consistent with Tuesday’s outage.

“Between approximately 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM tonight, portions of South River will experience a power outage while emergency repairs to wires are completed,” the department said in a statement shared on Facebook.

The nature of the wire damage has not been disclosed, and it remains unclear whether the issue is part of a larger infrastructure concern. No injuries or emergencies related to the outage were reported as of late Wednesday.

The South River Police Department said updates will be provided as they become available.
