MPD arrests suspects in Northeast armed robbery

Washington, DC – A tense confrontation on a Northeast residential block ended without injuries after two suspects armed with handguns were taken into custody following a robbery that unfolded Sunday night.

The incident occurred around 7:34 p.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of Edson Place, Northeast, when two suspects approached a victim and demanded property while displaying handguns. The victim complied and was not injured during the encounter.

Moments later, responding officers tracked the suspects to a nearby apartment. Both individuals were located and arrested without incident. Investigators recovered the victim’s property along with two firearms believed to have been used during the robbery.

Following the investigation, 18-year-old Malachi Demar Boahene of Southeast, DC, and a 17-year-old male, also of Southeast, DC, were charged with robbery while armed and carrying a pistol without a license.
