BALTIMORE, Md. — A man was fatally shot late Friday night in Southwest Baltimore after police on patrol heard gunfire and discovered the victim while responding to a separate shooting call.

At approximately 11:11 p.m. on April 18, officers were in the area when they heard gunshots and were then dispatched to the 600 block of Allendale Street for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they found an unidentified male suffering from gunshot wounds.

Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released, and no suspects have been named at this time.

Homicide detectives responded and have taken over the investigation, which remains active.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact detectives directly or submit tips anonymously through Metro Crime Stoppers.
