Bloodshed erupts on Baltimore street as two young men shot after midnight ambush

Gunfire on Mosher Street left both victims wounded as detectives hunt for answers

BALTIMORE, Md. — A burst of gunfire ripped through a West Baltimore neighborhood early Monday morning, leaving two young men wounded and sending officers racing to a nearby housing block where the victims were found bleeding from gunshot wounds.

The shooting unfolded at about 12:48 a.m. when Western District patrol officers responded to the 1400 block of Wilmer Court for reports of gunfire, according to Baltimore Police.

When officers arrived, they located a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to area hospitals, where they are expected to survive.

Investigators later determined the shooting occurred in the 600 block of Mosher Street before the victims were found on Wilmer Court.

Detectives with the Western District are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have not released information about possible suspects or a motive.
