Cape May Court House, NJ – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Chief of Detectives Michael Emmer have announced the arrest of Robert A. James, 53, from the 700 Block of Route 47 North, Cape May Court House, for illegal firearms possession.

On July 22, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the New Jersey State Police Teams Unit, concluded a cooperative narcotics investigation into James. This led to the execution of court-authorized search warrants on James’s person, residence, and vehicle.

The searches resulted in the seizure of one black “B5 Systems” AR assault-style rifle loaded with .223 caliber ammunition, one loaded black Ruger 9mm handgun, one loaded black Taurus 9mm handgun, one loaded .38 SPL revolver, and two bags containing numerous pills believed to be MDMA. Additionally, approximately $5,800 in U.S. currency and various types of paraphernalia related to the packaging and distribution of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) were confiscated.

James faces charges related to the illegal possession of firearms and narcotics. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
