Gunfire erupts on Benning Road as police continue search for gunman

WASHINGTON, DC – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning in the 1700 block of Benning Road NE, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Authorities issued a lookout for a Black male wearing dark clothing, last seen traveling southbound on 17th Street NE in a silver sedan.

Officials have not released details on injuries or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone with information to call (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to the TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
