Hit-and-run on Minnesota Avenue leaves pedestrian in critical condition

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A late-night collision on Minnesota Avenue has left a pedestrian fighting for life as police search for a driver who fled the scene in Southeast D.C.

The incident took place in the early hours of Nov. 7, when a vehicle struck a pedestrian near the 2800 block of Minnesota Avenue SE. The collision occurred around 1:01 a.m., leaving the victim critically injured on the roadway. First responders transported the individual to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, nearby surveillance cameras captured footage of the suspect’s vehicle speeding away. Authorities have shared this video with the public, hoping for tips that could lead to an arrest. The footage can be viewed at https://youtu.be/epkZ1Qf6vs8.

Investigators are urging anyone who knows the incident to come forward, emphasizing that tips can be submitted anonymously.
