Lucky scratch nets $50K for Hamilton Ohio Lottery player

HAMILTON, OH – A Hamilton resident claimed a $50,000 prize playing the Ohio Lottery $1,000,000 Cashword scratch-off, lottery officials announced.

The winning ticket was sold at Dixie Marathon, located at 2693 Dixie Highway in Hamilton. After mandatory federal and state tax withholdings totaling 28 percent, the player will receive $36,000.

$1,000,000 Cashword is a $20 scratch-off offering a top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years. As of July 24, one top prize remains in the game.

The Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to education since 1974.
