NJ State Police Add Passaic Attempted Murder Suspect to Most Wanted List

PASSAIC, N.J. — New Jersey State Police have added a Passaic man wanted in connection with the stabbing of a juvenile to the state’s Most Wanted list as authorities intensify efforts to locate him.

The New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit announced Thursday that Jason Barrera is now among the agency’s top fugitive targets. Barrera is wanted by the Passaic Police Department on attempted murder charges tied to a stabbing involving a juvenile victim in late December 2025.

Investigators have not released additional details about the victim’s condition or the circumstances surrounding the attack, but state police said the case prompted Barrera’s addition to the updated Most Wanted list coordinated with local law enforcement agencies.

Authorities emphasized that all tips submitted to investigators will remain confidential.
