BROOKLYN, NY – A late-night subway encounter turned violent when a man was repeatedly stabbed in the head by an unknown assailant inside a Bushwick train station.

The attack happened around 12:50 a.m. Friday in the mezzanine area of the Morgan Avenue Station, police said.

Investigators reported that the suspect initially approached the 47-year-old victim for a brief conversation before walking away, changing clothing, and returning moments later armed with a knife.

Suspect fled toward Johnson Avenue after stabbing

Authorities said the attacker exited the station and fled on foot toward the area of Morgan Avenue and Johnson Avenue. The victim was transported by EMS to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police seek public’s help in identifying attacker

The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion and slim build, last seen dressed entirely in black with a face mask. Investigators with the 90th Precinct and Transit District 33 are leading the case.
