Chase ends with crash and K9 arrest after stolen car spotted
LAUREL, Md. — A suspect driving a stolen vehicle slammed into a police cruiser while trying to escape, triggering a large-scale search that ended with a K9-assisted arrest.
The chaos unfolded around 3:25 p.m. on March 17 near Route 198 and Russett Green East.
Officers tracked the stolen Acura to a shopping center parking lot, where the driver attempted to flee and struck a patrol vehicle.
A coordinated search involving multiple officers, K9 units, detectives, and aviation followed.
The abandoned vehicle was later found near Jacks Reef Road, with the suspect nowhere in sight.
Police eventually located the suspect in the 3300 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road.
During the search, a K9 unit discovered a discarded jacket and a handgun in a nearby wooded area.
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Jayden Munroe Inabinet of Fredericksburg, Virginia, was taken into custody and charged.
