MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – A routine traffic stop escalated into a weapons arrest Wednesday when Montgomery County Police found a loaded firearm inside a vehicle carrying two teenagers in the Glenmont area.

The incident began when officers observed a Honda committing a traffic violation near the Glenmont Shopping Center. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver initially refused to stop.

After eventually bringing the car to a halt, a 16-year-old passenger in the back seat attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended.
