Randallstown woman scores $50K lottery win hours after buying ticket

RANDALLSTOWN, Md. — A Baltimore County woman didn’t have to wait long to hit it big, winning $50,000 the same day she bought a scratch-off ticket.

The federal employee picked up a THE BIG SPIN ticket on its first day of release after noticing the popular game had returned to stores.

Moments later, her excitement turned into shock when she revealed a matching number — 24 — and saw the $50,000 top prize printed underneath.

Not trusting her eyes, she scanned the ticket for confirmation before celebrating the win in her car.

“I always thought that one day I might hit the big one,” she said.

The winner plans to use part of the money to pay off her car and save the rest.

The ticket was purchased at Randallstown Plaza Liquors on Offutt Road, which will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

THE BIG SPIN is a $5 scratch-off game that launched March 20 and features multiple prize tiers, including chances to spin a prize wheel at lottery headquarters for even bigger winnings.
