Man Trying to Sell Shoes Punched and Shot at Victim, Striking Him Once

COLUMBUS, OH – A man who approached a customer inside a grocery store tried to sell him shoes. When the customer said no, he punched him and shot the man.

According to police, on April 17, around 6:49 pm, the suspect entered Ameristop Food Mart on Walford St.

“The suspect tried to sell a pair of shoes to a customer. The customer said he wasn’t interested, and that’s when the suspect punched the victim in the face,” the Columbus Police Department said. “The suspect fled the store, and the victim chased after him. The suspect then fired a shot at the victim, which struck another male in the stomach.”

The suspect fled the scene in this dark color 4-door sedan. He was described as 5’, 100lbs., possibly Nepali. He was wearing a distinctive jacket.
