Over 100 Shots Fired in Southeast D.C. Neighborhood, Pregnant Woman Shot

WASHINGTON, DC – A pregnant woman was shot Wednesday afternoon when over 100 gunshots rang out in Southeast D.C. The incident happened during a shootout near Birney Place at the Parkchetester apartment complex.

The driveby shooting involve over 90 shots fired from a vehicle from what police have described as an assault rifle.

The pregnant woman was shot multiple times but is expected to survive. Bullet holes were scattered through the neighborhood, striking cars, apartment units, and even a fire hydrant.

Police say two vehicles may have been involved in the shootout and it’s not clear whether or not they were firing at each other or at an intended target.
