Arrest made in brazen NYC ATV theft on moving flat bed truck

NEW YORK, NY – An ongoing investigation led to the arrest of Christian Peralta, a 31-year-old male from Bronx, NY, in connection with a grand larceny incident that occurred within the 43rd Precinct. Peralta has been charged with robbery, grand larceny, and reckless endangerment. The initial incident took place on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at approximately 6:55 pm.

The victim, a 32-year-old male tow truck operator, was transporting a four-wheeled vehicle on a flatbed on the Bruckner Expressway Service Road at Bruckner Boulevard. A large group of individuals on dirt bikes and ATVs approached the tow truck while it was in motion. Some members of the group jumped onto the flatbed and removed the four-wheeled vehicle being towed. The group fled the scene, and the tow truck operator was unharmed. The stolen ATV was later abandoned and recovered by responding officers. The NYPD is still seeking information about the other individuals involved
