Columbus teen arrested for murder of 15-year-old Maria Guerra-Sandoval

COLUMBUS, OH – Today, a 18-year-old man, Kevin Jesus-Lopez, has been arrested and charged with the murder of 15-year-old Maria Fernanda Guerra-Sandoval.

Columbus Police officers discovered the young girl’s body in the 4700 block of Sullivant Avenue on April 3, 2023. Guerra-Sandoval was found unresponsive with an unknown injury and was pronounced dead shortly after by Columbus Fire.

Jesus-Lopez is currently in custody at the Franklin County Jail, while the Homicide Bureau continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
