DOVER, DE – Last night, a man was arrested by the Delaware State Police after being found with drugs and several weapons, including a concealed handgun.

At around 10:00 PM, a trooper assigned to the Governor’s Task Force noticed a bicyclist merge onto northbound N. Dupont Highway from White Oak Road in Dover without using a hand signal.

The bicyclist, identified as 35-year-old Andrew Sheppard of Dover, Delaware, was stopped by the trooper. During the stop, brass knuckles, several knives, and a bag of crystal methamphetamine that fell out of Sheppard’s pocket were discovered.

Upon searching Sheppard’s backpack, a semiautomatic handgun, approximately 5.78 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and a meth pipe were found. As a convicted felon, Sheppard is prohibited from possessing firearms.
