Suspect Arrested for Murder of 51-Year-Old Man in Prospect Heights

BROOKLYN, NY – A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to the fatal shooting of a 51-year-old male at 1337 Sterling Place.

The deceased, identified as Muhammad Malik of 145-44 105 Avenue, Queens, was found with multiple gunshot wounds on Monday, September 4, at approximately 8:49 p.m. EMS transported him to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead.

Following an ongoing investigation, Sergio Codrington of 1138 Saint Marks Avenue, Brooklyn, was arrested on Tuesday, September 5, at 4:15 p.m., within the confines of the 77 Precinct. Codrington faces multiple charges, including murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation remains ongoing.
